Members Notice – Nathan Eager Resignation

Dear Members,
It is with regret that I wish to advise that I have received the resignation of Course Superintendent, Nathan Eager, effective 31st March 2023. Nathan has accepted a project management role with OCM Golf who specialise in golf course design and construction projects.
Nathan joined the Warragul Country Club in May 2008 and has made a significant impact on our Club and the golf course in his 15 years in the role of Course Superintendent, particularly in the areas of golf course improvements and construction. Nathan has built a great team and he leaves our Club in a significantly better position than when he arrived.
On behalf of the Board and Members of the Club, we extend our best wishes to Nathan on his new venture and thank him for the outstanding contribution he has made to our Club over the past 15 years.
The Club will now focus on the process of recruiting a new Course Superintendent which will commence immediately, with the search being Australia wide.
Yours sincerely,
Michael Hodge

Solar Energy Project

Members are advised that the Club has been exploring a solar panels energy project, with the aim to reduce its carbon footprint and to reduce its annual $120,000 electricity costs.
The Club made an application to Sustainability Victoria for a $50,000 funding grant (it is on a dollar-for-dollar basis) towards this project and that application has been approved as part of the Governments Community Climate Change & Energy Action Grants program.
With this funding approved, the Board approved a further $63,000 of funding to deliver the project. It is estimated that solar energy produced from this project will provide annual saving of approximately $20,000 on the Club’s electricity costs.
The project has now been completed and the Club is now utilising the solar power being generated from 28th January 2023.
