TeeOff23 Pink Day

TeeOff23 Pink Day

What a fantastic sight to see the Warragul women golfers all decked out in extravagant pink costumes for our annual TeeOff23 Pink Day.  Everyone was there to raise funds for Breast Cancer Research Trials, Australia and this year an amazing total of over $8,000 will be forwarded to Breast Cancer Australia.

Although the girls went all out with their appearance for the day, unfortunately the weather was most unkind.  It poured with rain. No! It belted down with rain! The greens were flooded and the fairways were awash with pink dye. The golf was called off and everyone beat a hasty retreat back to the warmth of the WCC lounge.

After a reviving hot cuppa and some attempts at drying out, the golfers all piled into the Function Room for games, raffles and a non-silent auction. A sumptuous grazing table of goodies was a most welcome sight.

Guest speaker, Ms Christine Holland, Chair of the WGHG, spoke, with first-hand knowledge, about the existing issues with the current West Gippsland hospital, then contrasted that situation with an artistic impression of the proposed new hospital for our region. Thank you Christine for your well-informed and topical presentation.

A huge thank you to the Warragul business community for supporting our day, thank you to the Warragul Country Club management team who contributed most generously to our prize pool, and finally thank you to Anthony Bambridge, Craig Macintosh and Wilma Henshall accepting the challenge of Nearest the Pin on the 18th hole. (Anthony was the closest this year).

Well done Warragul Women Golfers! Another very successful day for Breast Cancer Research endorsed and promoted by Golf Australia.
