Gippsland Super 6 Important Update

Gippsland Super 6 Important Update

In conjunction with the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia we are very excited to announce two great additions to the Gippsland Super 6 event to be played at our club from Thursday 8 to Sunday 11 December with the PGA recently confirming the event to be broadcast live across the weekend for the very first time. This is a huge addition for the event and will see Warragul Country Club beamed into households around the country and New Zealand for 8 hours of Live Coverage (3 on Saturday and 5 on Sunday) along with multiple highlights replays post event via Fox Sports and Kayo. This addition will greatly enhance our fantastic venues exposure from hosting this event and gives our club a great opportunity to really showcase everything we have to offer.

In further great news and expanding on the PGA’s previous release around the prizemoney increase from the $137,500 that was played for in December 2021 to $175,000, there has now been a further increase confirmed and the professionals will now play for a total of $200,000. The increases are sure to help attract the strongest field to ever play the Gippsland Super 6 in the events four year history and we hope all members and local golf enthusiasts will be out in force to watch these incredible players in this unique tournament format.

The Club encourages local organisations to consider a sponsorship package for this event as a great way to showcase and advertise your business to the greater community. For more information about sponsorship packages please click here.

Members will be sent an email in the coming weeks regarding volunteers for the event.

Our Short Game Facility Is Open

Our Short Game Facility Is Open

On Wednesday 28th of September we held an official opening ceremony for the Short Game Facility, otherwise known as the 19th hole.

Contrary to common practice there was no ribbon cutting, instead Club Life Members Helen Amott and Tony Kelly opened the facility by teeing off for the first time in front of a crowd of Club Members.

This Short Game Facility provides a first class coaching, practice and training facility that will enhance the development of golf at our Club. This green will also act as a 19th hole, which provides maximum flexibility in the event a hole needs to be taken out of play for maintenance.

The Short Game Facility is located between the second and third holes and maintenance entry road. The green consists of a massive 550m2 to 600m2 – to allow for multiple uses. The amount of short grass surrounding the green also allows for a variety of stances, lies and distances and plays around 80 to 90 metres.

We are thrilled to have this grand addition to our course and encourage all Members to enjoy and utilise this facility.
