YESTERDAYS ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE PREMIER
The hard border lockdown between metropolitan Melbourne and Regional Victoria will be removed from Monday 9 November 2020. This is great news for approximately 100 of our golf Members who have been unable to access the golf course since March. We welcome back these affected Members and look forward to them once again enjoying golf and all the other Member services at the Warragul Country Club.
Unfortunately there was no change to our current venue patrons caps of 40 patrons inside and 70 patrons outside, no more than 10 patrons per room and no more than 1 person per 4sq metres. These 3 tiers of patron restrictions continue to remain in place.
Apparently Regional Victoria now has to wait for metropolitan Melbourne to “catch up” and to be aligned, before we can then all move to further easing of the above onerous patron restrictions.
The Club is disappointed with this outcome, which means that the current venue patron caps will remain in place until at least Monday 9 November 2020 with no indication beyond that date as to when these venue patron restrictions will be eased.
GAMING TO REOPEN
Following the Premiers announcement yesterday, the gaming room will open on Monday 9 November 2020 at 9am.
Unfortunately the Government has imposed the following conditions:
- The number of Members allowed in the gaming room at any one time can be no more than 10.
- The 10 patrons in the gaming room is counted and forms part of the 40 patrons that are allowed in the venue at any one time.
Logistically this will be challenging as we manage and balance member expectations and compliance with the gaming room patron cap of 10.
Our hope is that the Government further eases these restrictions in a quick and timely manner from Monday 9 November 2020, so we can properly service our Members and guests, and start the road back to business recovery and full operations.
