George Lowe Final 2020

George Lowe Final 2020

Congratulations to Steven Porch & Louise Verge on their victory in this years George Lowe Trophy Final.
In a good spirited match, they were able to win by the 13th hole against Alan Peace & Kylie Wendt.
It was very pleasing to see some new faces in the final this year and we hope to see these people in more events over the coming years.
A big thank you to all participants in the qualifying, allowing this event to proceed after being rescheduled from earlier in the year.
Thank you to Phil & Kerri for being on hand to referee.

Cup Week Operating Hours

Cup Week Operating Hours
Monday 2 November 2020 (Cup Day eve):

Members are well aware how busy Melbourne Cup day can be. The current COVID venue restrictions of 40 patrons inside and no more than 10 patrons per space will make it logistically difficult to service the normal cup day crowd.

As such the venue will be open on Monday 2 November 2020 from 2pm to 8pm for Bar, TAB and Keno services. Members are strongly encouraged to place your Melbourne Cup bets on Monday and also purchase your Melbourne Cup sweep tickets at the same time, to avoid expected delays.

Tuesday 3 November 2020 (Melbourne Cup):

The TAB will open from 9am. Normal lunch and dinner times will apply. Due to patron caps (40 patrons inside and 70 patrons outside), Members are strongly encouraged to book now for lunch and dinner.

Yesterdays Announcement & Gaming to Reopen

Yesterdays Announcement & Gaming to Reopen
YESTERDAYS ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE PREMIER

The hard border lockdown between metropolitan Melbourne and Regional Victoria will be removed from Monday 9 November 2020. This is great news for approximately 100 of our golf Members who have been unable to access the golf course since March. We welcome back these affected Members and look forward to them once again enjoying golf and all the other Member services at the Warragul Country Club.

Unfortunately there was no change to our current venue patrons caps of 40 patrons inside and 70 patrons outside, no more than 10 patrons per room and no more than 1 person per 4sq metres. These 3 tiers of patron restrictions continue to remain in place.

Apparently Regional Victoria now has to wait for metropolitan Melbourne to “catch up” and to be aligned, before we can then all move to further easing of the above onerous patron restrictions.

The Club is disappointed with this outcome, which means that the current venue patron caps will remain in place until at least Monday 9 November 2020 with no indication beyond that date as to when these venue patron restrictions will be eased.

GAMING TO REOPEN

Following the Premiers announcement yesterday, the gaming room will open on Monday 9 November 2020 at 9am.

Unfortunately the Government has imposed the following conditions:

  • The number of Members allowed in the gaming room at any one time can be no more than 10.
  • The 10 patrons in the gaming room is counted and forms part of the 40 patrons that are allowed in the venue at any one time.

Logistically this will be challenging as we manage and balance member expectations and compliance with the gaming room patron cap of 10.

Our hope is that the Government further eases these restrictions in a quick and timely manner from Monday 9 November 2020, so we can properly service our Members and guests, and start the road back to business recovery and full operations.
