As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure Warragul Country Club remains inclusive, welcoming, and reflective of modern standards, the Golf Committee has endorsed an update to our on-course dress code, which will come into effect from Monday, July 1.
This decision aligns with broader industry trends and supports the goals outlined in our upcoming Golf Strategic Plan.
What’s Changing?
We’re shifting the focus of our dress expectations from rigid attire rules to an emphasis on neatness, etiquette, and respect for the game. This approach ensures that all players—especially women, juniors, and newer golfers—feel more welcome and included.
Acceptable Attire Includes:
-
Collared shirts or neat, golf-appropriate tops
-
Tailored shorts, skirts, dresses (with appropriate sports underwear), skorts, or pants
-
Golf-specific or neat sports shoes (no metal spikes)
-
Clean denim is permitted, though a smart and respectful appearance is encouraged
Not Acceptable:
-
Singlets, tank tops, or football jerseys
-
Board shorts or overly casual beachwear
-
Ripped or heavily distressed denim
-
Work boots, thongs, or shoes with metal spikes
This updated policy brings our on-course standards in line with our clubhouse expectations, ensuring consistency and reducing confusion.
We thank you for embracing this positive step forward for the club. Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the Golf Committee or Golf Shop.
