Help Shane Milroy Get Back On His Feet After The Fire

Help Shane Milroy Get Back On His Feet After The Fire
Please help support one of our own, Shane Milroy, after he tragically lost his house and belongings in a fire last weekend.
Shane has been an integral part of our course maintenance team for over 14 years, taking pride in his work and always going above and beyond for our club.
A Go Fund Me page has been setup for Shane and his three kids to help them get back up on their feet.
The Club has also setup a donation jar, where all proceeds will go to Shane and his family.

100th Annual Tournament ~ Dinner

100th Annual Tournament ~ Dinner

This year marks the Warragul Country Club’s 100th Annual Tournament. There are not many clubs around that have achieved such a milestone, so this year we will be having a Tournament Dinner to celebrate.  We encourage all members to book a table and come along for the evening.  Seats are limited so make sure you book online through clicking on the image above.
We are pleased to announce that along with our Master of Ceremonies Craig Willis, we have managed to secure three fantastic guest speakers for the night.
Mike Clayton (Professional Golfer & Renowned Course Designer)
He had a very successful amateur career which included the 1978 Australian Amateur, and the Victorian Amateur in 1977 and 1981. He turned professional in 1981, the same year he joined the Australian Tour. He won his first tour event one year later and would win six more times between then and 1994.  Clayton played on the European Tour from 1982 to 2000.
Clayton is now a golf course architect, partnering with 2006 U.S. Open champion Geoff Ogilvy to create the firm Ogilvy Clayton Cocking Mead Golf Course Design. Clayton designed or was involved in the design of Barnbougle Dunes in Bridport, Tasmania.
Kathie Shearer (Media centre manager major tournaments 30 + years) (Bobs wife)
Kathie Shearer has ran media centres at Aussie golf tournaments for years. But it was in Thailand in 1998, when a young Tiger Woods REFUSED to give a press conference, that became a defining moment in her career. Woods said: “I don’t f***ing have to.”
Trevor Herden ~ (Director of Tournaments, Golf Australia)
Herden has seen it all during his time running and directing golf tournaments. It’s a largely behind-the-scenes role but it’s a task that usually only receives attention when things go wrong. Fortunately Herden has all three qualities. The Australian Open and Women’s Australian Open are his primary moments to shine, while Herden has the experience of three years spent in the US to call upon as well as the savvy diplomacy that comes from caddieing for a time. Tempestuous weather, tempestuous golf courses and tempestuous players – it’s not a job for the fainthearted.
