Golf Australia runs two Tournaments per year across regional Victoria in Autumn and Spring. The events are the most popular on the annual Tournament Calendar attracting fields of between 180 – 350 players.
Players at both Country Tournaments compete to win the Ruby McKenzie Trophy, named in the honour of one of Victoria’s greatest country golfers and former VLGU,  Australian Golf Council member and life member of Woodend GC until her death in 1978. The ex-Women’s Golf Victoria office in Elsternwick was purchased through a bequest left by Ruby McKenzie for the VLGU, now Golf Australia.
The Best 36 Hole Nett trophy is named after Vi Teesdale, a former Captain and President of Huntingdale Golf Club. Her expert knowledge of the rules of golf was the reason this trophy is named in her honour.

Sunday 9th June Wedding

Sunday 9th June Wedding

Dear members,
This coming Sunday 9th June, there will be a wedding held out on the area behind the club terrace and practice putting green from 2pm.
We ask that all members do not park up on the gravel area at the back of the practice fairway on that day.  Access to the cart shed will be as per normal.
For any golfers playing on the day, we ask that you respect the couple on their special day and keep well away when playing the 10th & 18th holes.
Thank you

Well done to our Ladies Division 1 team who have won an amazing 5th Pennant in a row!
Heading into the final at Morwell GC against a strong Trafalgar team, the ladies were never headed and won 5-0.  In the words of the late Richie Benaud – “Marvellous effort that!”
Our Division 2 girls came up against a Traralgon team who were keen to reverse the scoreline from the week before and did so 3 1/2 – 1 1/2.  Still a great effort ladies
