Golf Cart Policy

Golf Cart Policy

Dear members,
Over the past few years, our goal has been to present you the golf member, the best conditioned & maintained course in the region.  Over the past few years we have constructed several new paths in high traffic areas around the course and the scheduling of more is planned for completion this summer.
Initially Warragul was not designed for the use of golf carts, but we do understand that in this day & age the need for cart usage is at a premium.  On any given day we have no less than a dozen carts out on the fairways. More so on competition days.
Members would be aware of the need to restrict motorised golf cart traffic when adverse weather or turf conditions warrant. This policy ensures that we can continue to provide the best possible playing conditions in the long term.  In applying this policy, the club is well aware of the high number of golfers who cannot and do not play golf when these golf cart restrictions are in force.  We also recognise that the use of golf carts enhance member experience when playing here at Warragul.
After consideration by both Men’s & Ladies committees, the purpose of this notice is to advise Members of a further enhancement to the policy as follows:

  • No more than two (2) carts per group of 4.

This change will further protect the condition of the course.  When making your bookings please consider who you are with and organise to “pool” together.  On the day of play, if the Pro Shop advises of your group having more than 2 carts, please organise with your fellow players to pair up.
Use of golf carts is at your own risk and for safety reasons we strongly discourage the use of the golf cart on severe slopes or through wet areas.
Consistent with current policy, course management reserves the right to restrict the use of golf carts in the rare instances when excessive heat, moisture stress, new turf, other weather-related or maintenance-related conditions create extreme safety issues or would result in any cart traffic causing excessive turf damage.
If you are unsure of whether golf carts will be permitted on any given day, please call the pro shop or check the Members section of the club website www.warragulcountryclub.com.au
If you have any questions, please contact me ph: 5623 2353 or email heath@warragulcountryclub.com.au
Kind Regards,
Heath Jones

Warragul Country Club Gaming Room Renovations

Warragul Country Club Gaming Room Renovations

Warragul Country Club Gaming Room Renovations
The Board wishes to advise Members that it recently approved funding for a Gaming Room renovation.
The key features are as follows:

  • A building extension to the current gaming room footprint.
  • A significant change to the gaming machine floorplan, introducing a gaming machine carousel type arrangement, which will reduce the current linear banks arrangement.
  • Construction of a new, larger and more functional outdoor smokers’ room, which will have mini sport bar features and serve as a much more pleasant break out area for Members & guests.
  • Stage 1 will see the introduction of Ticket In, Ticket Out (T.I.T.O.) functionality for the gaming machines.
  • There is NO increase to the number of gaming machines.

The objectives of the renovation are as follows:

  • This floorplan change is about making the room more spacious, improving social distancing, the ability to better utilise the room amenity, and ultimately improve player experience.
  • Commercially, it is prudent to provide a better offering and member experience so as the Club grows its competitive advantage and all-important market share, over other competing venues.
  • The increased size of the gaming room and new gaming machine layout will make the room more COVID compliant and result in NOT having to shut down every second gaming machine when/if COVID restrictions are reintroduced just as we are experiencing now. This means most gaming machines will be spaced 1.5 meters apart from the next gaming machine.
  • A new, larger, and more comfortable outdoor smoker’s room, sports bar and break out area, which will transform this area and bring it up to industry best practice and to our own Club standards.

The Board have approved approximately $500k for this project. In terms of timing, the Builders tender was recently issued and we hope to appoint a Builder in early August. It is expected to be an 8 week project. The Board is excited to deliver this project and believes it will significantly enhance the Club’s offer, member experience and ensure that the Club maintains its standing as the number one Golf, Hospitality & Entertainment venue in the Region.
Please find below a copy of the renovation floorplan and indicative renders for the new smoker’s room.

Should any Members wish to further discuss this project with me, please call me on 0418325252 or drop in to discuss.
